One Dedicated Gamer Has Recreated Jurassic Park in Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode
Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode has proven to be a surprisingly complex addition to the Far Cry series. The mode’s map creator offers players an enormous library of assets from previous Far Cry 5 and previous games. Already, some amateur map-makers have produced some impressive maps using this editor, and one gamer in particular may have just set a very high bar for others to beat. This gamer, who goes by “D4RKDEATH” has recreated the setting of the original Jurassic Park movie in incredible detail.

Sadly, Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode doesn’t include any actual dinosaurs as assets. Nevertheless, the setting is rendered in shocking detail. The map is designed for the Arcade Mode’s Team Deathmatch game-type, but is well worth a look simply to explore. The expansive map is packed full of vignettes and structures taken from Jurassic Park, and all manner of other subtle nods to the 1990 film. For use in deathmatch, D4RKDEATH’s map is also scattered with weapons for players to find while battling through the park.
Jurassic Park is actually soon to feature in a video game; Jurassic World Evolution, a park simulator game which will allow players to build and manage their own take on the iconic park. The game releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 12th. With gamers waiting for that, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom about to release in cinemas, the timing is perfect for D4RKDEATH to release this map.
They have certainly set a high bar for other aspiring map-makers. Some gamers have already recreated other iconic locations from film and TV; the island from Lost, for example, and the stacks from Ready Player One. However, this new map might well exceed both for sheer attention to detail. This may be due in large part to the particular assets available in Far Cry 5’s Arcade Mode. No doubt some players will succeed in creating even more impressive content using the suite of tools provided by Ubisoft.
