There are so many things to spend dozens of hours within Red Dead Online like raising stats and collecting free horses. Unfortunately, some players are concerned about a potential Red Dead Online Beta wipe. After all, this version of the online mode is technically a “beta”. Some games in beta have been known to reset all progress upon release while others haven’t.
This can be scary as we currently have no idea when the online multiplayer will have its full release. If there were to be a Red Dead Online Beta wipe, it’s possible you could lose dozens of ranks and hours of playtime in an instant. This can be extremely disheartening. However, we are going to go over what we know about the possibility of this.
Will There Be a Red Dead Online Beta Wipe?
Put simply, we don’t really know if there will be a wipe. Thankfully, though, Rockstar Games has already commented on the matter specifically. According to it, it is Rockstar’s hope that players will be able to retain their progress from the beta. However, there are no guarantees that this will be so. There is the chance that there will be issues that may result in a reset.
Hopefully, there won’t ever have to be a Red Dead Online Beta wipe. Unfortunately, we will have to wait and see about the possibility of this issue. This is especially true since we don’t even know when the online multiplayer will be released out of the beta format.
