We’ve already gone over how to access Red Dead Online and get your Ultimate Edition content but that’s not all. One of the first things that many players will want to do when they start playing is join a Red Dead Online Posse. A Posse is this game’s version of an online group or gang. This will allow you and other players to easily find and play with each other.
A Red Dead Online Posse is especially important for players who already have friends they wish to roam around with. There is so much content for you to do with a group like destroying enemy gangs, robbing, and taking on story missions. But first, you will need to know how to start and/or join a Posse. Here’s how you do just that.
How to Join/Start a Red Dead Online Posse
If you already have friends on Xbox One or PS4 you want to play with, you can do this before you even start playing. There is a “posse up” option that you can choose from the main menu for Red Dead Online. However, let’s say you want to party up with strangers or you’re already in the game. Well, thankfully, there is an easy way to do that, too.
All you have to do is press left on the D-Pad to pull up a menu. Once there, you will want to select the Red Dead Online Posse option. Here, you will see all the groups that are currently open for members. If you don’t see any, that’s fine. You can create your own Posse to roam around with.
When creating your Red Dead Online Posse, you have two options. One is for a temporary group that only lasts until you log off. On the other hand, there is a persistent Posse option that is permanent like a guild. However, these cost $200 to start.
