Let’s face it, not everyone wants to run around with strangers in your posse while you’re fishing and the like. As such, there are some players who are wondering if there are Red Dead Online private sessions. Essentially, can you play with your friends privately? This would be great since a private server would mean avoiding strangers, griefers, and the like.
We already covered whether or not you can play Red Dead Online solo and/or offline. Unfortunately, that’s not possible. There will always be people with you. Perhaps, though, it is possible to join one of the Red Dead Online private sessions. This, at least, would mean that you only play with the people you want to. So, is it possible to do this?
Are There Red Dead Online Private Sessions?
Let’s go ahead and not waste any time. The answer to the question is, no, there are no private sessions or servers that you can start/join. That’s right, there is no option to create your own private lobby for you and your friends. This is rather unfortunate considering other major online games let you do the same.
But, alas, Red Dead Online private sessions don’t exist currently. It is possible, however, that Rockstar Games might add private servers in the future. Though we definitely expect that to be low on the priority list for the developer so even if it is added, we don’t see it happening any time soon. Thankfully, you don’t have to interact with strangers online.
If you want, you can join a permanent posse that is persistent. Similar to like a guild in other games, a permanent posse allows you to roam around while in the world with your friends. You can even complete missions with them so you don’t have match up with strangers.
