There are many activities that you can do in Red Dead Online like hunt perfect pelts and fish for salmon. However, for many players, these activities are best done together with friends. As such, there are players who are wondering how to access the Red Dead Redemption 2 start posse feature. We are going to go over just that right here.
For starters, a posse is the online “gang” of sorts that you use in Red Dead Online. It’s your party or group like in other online multiplayer games. If you’re looking to play with your friends (or random strangers), the Red Dead Redemption 2 start posse feature is for you. While you can always join an existing posse, we understand if you want to start your own.
How to Red Dead Redemption 2 Start Posse
Before we can get into how to do the Red Dead Redemption 2 start posse feature, there are some other basics you should know. For one, there are two types of posses that you can create. One of them is a temporary posse that only exists for the time being while you’re in that session. This is great for just filling up slots for certain story missions and the like.
The second type of posse that you can start is a persistent posse. These are permanent groups for your friends, most similar to guilds and stuff in other games. As for how you start either of these posses, all you need to do is have completed the tutorial missions. Once you are in free roam, you can start a posse.
Press left on the D-Pad to pull up the main menu. Select posses and then the square or X button (depending on your platform) to create a posse. You can choose a temporary or persistent posse here. Note that it does cost $200 of in-game money to create a persistent posse.
