Beavers may not be the deadliest animals you hunt in Red Dead Redemption 2, but they’re darn elusive for sure. Consistently finding beavers can be a real pain if you don’t know where to look, especially given their small size. Fortunately for you, this guide outlines some of the best Red Dead Redemption 2 beaver hunting spots.
Where to Find Beavers in RDR2?
Common sense dictates that beavers are found near water, and the same holds true in Red Dead Redemption 2. However, there are a few specific spots where beavers are especially plentiful. If you need a beaver pelt or two for whatever reason, head to the following locations:
- The river leading out of the southern part of Elysian Pool on the eastern front of New Hanover.
- Lake Owanjila which is west of the town of Strawberry.
- The Upper Montana River which flows out of Lake Owanjila’s southern bank.
- Lake Isabella which is up in the northwestern quadrant of the map, in Ambarino.
- At the river inlet to the southwest of Saint Denis.
Finding the Legendary Beaver in Red Dead Redemption 2
We covered some basic steps for finding the Legendary Beaver in our Legendary Animals guide. However, if you want some more specific tips for finding the legendary creature, then read on.
Using the “New Hanover” text on your map as a reference, there’s a river that flows south from Elysian Pool. The river passes through the “E” and “R” in “Hanover,” with an inlet that extends east towards Van Horn. Head to the northern shore of that inlet and use Eagle Eye to find some broken sticks. A scent trail emanating from those sticks will lead you to the Legendary Beaver.
