Where to Find Red Dead Redemption 2 Elk

Red Dead Redemption 2 elk

There are actually quite a lot of spots where you can find elk in Red Dead Redemption 2. This is the same for the multiplayer mode Red Dead Online. For the most part, elk are located in mountainous areas, especially in forests and so on. But we do have one location that we think is the absolute best one for easily finding one of these animals.

That Red Dead Redemption 2 elk spot is in the state of New Hanover. If you’re still early on in the game, this is also an awesome place for finding one since you don’t have to go very far. Its exact location is right at Cattail Pond. There are lots of elk that are frequently hanging around the pond.

If you can’t find Cattail Pond, it is found just to the west of the town of Valentine past the railroad tracks and just northeast of Wallace Station, also past the tracks. We recommend using improved arrows for killing it or a sniper rifle.
