Odds are, you have a ton of stolen goods with you already. As such, you are going to need to know how and where to fence stolen goods in Red Dead Redemption 2. Just completing the very first chapter in the game before the world opens up will net you a ton of loot. A lot of the loot are valuables that can’t be sold normally.
These valuables include things like pocket watches, rings, and the like. Thankfully, you get a good number of these just from doing the first couple of missions. While you might not have a lot of cash, these goods can make you a whole lot richer. Each one of them is worth anywhere from five dollars to 25 dollars.
How to Fence Stolen Goods in Red Dead Redemption 2
As such, you are going to need a place to sell them. Unfortunately, only fences – people who deal in illegal goods – will buy these stolen goods from you. This even includes valuables from people you killed and looted; not just stolen. What sucks is that fences aren’t located in every town you’ll pass through.
Places like Valentine that are near the starting area don’t have a fence trader. Instead, you are going to have to head to one of the larger cities in order to do so. The closest one that we recommend is Saint Denis (seen above). You can either go through the story or stumble upon this major city that resembles New Orleans.
If you don’t mind some map spoilers, read on. Saint Denis is located just to the southeast of your first main camp in chapter two. Here, you’ll find a fence in the northeastern part of the city. The fence has an icon on your map so consult it if you’re having trouble finding them. Enter there and you’ll be able to sell your stolen goods. We were able to get around $60 just from the first couple of missions.
