Rockstar Games has announced the first tie-in guide for Red Dead Redemption 2 – arguably before even showing gameplay – and it looks to be a huge book. It is tall and thick, which could be a nod to the gigantic size and ambition of Red Dead Redemption 2 itself.
We know that the game will be bigger than anything Rockstar has ever made, even Grand Theft Auto 5, but – while popular – the series doesn’t have as much traction as Grand Theft Auto. It’s still projected to sell very well and even become the highest grossing game of the year, but nothing on the level of Grand Theft Auto 5’s 95 million copies sold since launch.
The guide comes in multiple versions, like the pre-orders of the game, which Rockstar list below on their Newswire.
Standard Edition
Packed with essential information about every mission, character and feature of this vast and detailed world, the Standard Edition includes an at-a-glance walkthrough, dedicated maps chapter, comprehensive reference sections, and an all-encompassing index.Collector’s Edition
The premium hardcover Collector’s Edition features everything from the Standard Edition, printed on superior quality art paper, and also includes an exclusive character art gallery.
The standard edition of the guide is $20, while the collector’s edition is $30, so you’ll want to look inside your wallets and purses if you want extra tips when you play the game. We don’t know how many pages it will be, but this is the summary Rockstar provided.
Your essential companion to the furthest corners of the deepest and most detailed Rockstar world yet, the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide is packed with information about every aspect of Rockstar Games’ epic tale of outlaw life in America’s unforgiving heartland.
Published by Piggyback and available for pre-order now via the Rockstar Warehouse and other retailers, the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide is presented in two distinct variations.
They describe Red Dead Redemption 2 as the “deepest and most detailed Rockstar world yet” – but we’ll have to see about that when the game launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, alongside the guide.
