Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Acquire the Legendary Bear Hunter Outfit in RDR2

There’s a long list of Legendary Animals to find and hunt in Red Dead Redemption 2. One such animal is the Legendary Grizzly Bear, a massive beast whose pelt you can claim if you slay it. But what can you do with said pelt once you have it? Well, it just so happens the pelt is the key to one of the game’s more unique outfits.

Acquiring Red Dead Redemption 2’s Legendary Bear Hunter Outfit

With the Legendary Bear Pelt in hand, the first thing you’ll want to do is locate a trapper. Trappers can take the materials you remove from slain animals and craft them into handy apparel items. Some items are grouped into specific outfits, one of which is the Bear Hunter Outfit. As its name suggests, the Bear Hunter Outfit requires bear pelts for crafting. However, just any old bear pelts won’t suffice. You’ll need the Legendary Bear Pelt to meet the criteria for crafting the Bear Hunter Outfit.

Red Dead Redemption 2's Bear Hunter Outfit has four pieces in total.

The Legendary Bear Pelt is only one of several components you’ll need depending on which item you want to craft. You’ll also need other materials scavenged from slain animals as well as cash to complete the transaction. We’ve listed each piece of the Bear Hunter Outfit and its required components below.

  • Legendary Bear Head Hat: $40 and one Legendary Bear Pelt.
  • Legendary Bear Coat: $28, a Legendary Bear Pelt, and a Perfect Bison Pelt.
  • Legendary Bear Roper: $34, a Legendary Bear Pelt, and a Perfect Bull Hide.
  • Boar Riding Gloves: $15, a Perfect Boar Pelt, and two Perfect Rabbit Pelts.

Once you’ve crafted all four of the above items, you’ll have completed the Bear Hunter Outfit. If you’re struggling to get the required perfect pelts, our guide on getting clean kills should help.
