You’re checking your inventory in Red Dead Redemption 2, and it suddenly occurs to you that your hat is missing. Great—you’ve been through a gunfight and a fist fight and you’ve wandered all over town since the last time you know you had it. What can you do? Well, obviously reloading your last save could be a bit inconvenient. Here’s how to find your hat in RDR2.
How to Find Your Hat in Red Dead Redemption 2
If your hat got knocked off your head (and it happens a lot), there are several options you have for retrieving it.
1. Search the ground.
First, you can hunt around for it manually. This is best done if you are close to the spot you believe you may have lost it. It probably fell off during a fight, so locations where you were in combat are the best spots to search. If you just lost it, it probably isn’t far. But if you lost it a while ago, this can be tedious and inefficient.
2. Use a Wardrobe.
Your next option is to swing by a camp. Here, you can access a Wardrobe. In the Wardrobe, you can find all of your attire. This includes all of your hats.
3. Get it from your horse.
The last option is to get the hat from your horse. You need to either be astride your horse or right beside your horse to do this. Use L1 or LB to pull up the Weapon Wheel. Use R1 or RB to get to the Horse menu. Now the wheel will display the items which your horse can provide you with. There you should be able to grab your hat.
