This year’s annual Game Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. PST (8:30 p.m. EST). For the 2018 iteration of The Game Awards, a vast selection of games has been nominated across 22 separate categories. Seven of those categories include a nomination for Red Dead Redemption 2, and fans can start voting right now.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Game Awards Nominations
The game-specific nomination categories for The Game Awards cover both specific genres and more generalized topics such as art direction. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been nominated in seven categories, including the following:
- Game of the Year
- Game Direction
- Narrative
- Art Direction
- Score/Music
- Audio
- Action/Adventure Game
Additionally, voice actor Roger Clark (who voiced RDR2 protagonist Arthur Morgan) has been nominated in the Best Performance category. That makes for a total of eight different categories which Red Dead Redemption 2 fans can vote on. Of course, the competition is pretty stiff. Many of those categories include equally popular 2018 games such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The Best Performance category is also a tough race since it includes voice actors from those same games. How do you decide between Roger Clark, Melissanthi Mahut (AC Odyssey’s Kassandra), and Christopher Judge (God of War’s Kratos)?
Fortunately, voters don’t have to make one choice per category and stick with it. As part of The Game Awards’ voting process, each person can actually cast a separate vote each day. This means that dedicated voters can stack votes for their favorite nominations or spread their votes throughout a given category. If you want to vote, you can do so here.
