On the 12th of December, Creative Assembly will release The Shadow and The Blade; the next big Lord Pack DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2. While that pack will add Malus Darkblade and Deathmaster Snikch to the game, the studio will also be releasing an accompanying Total War: Warhammer 2 Free-LC, a new Legendary Lord for Bretonnia. Repanse de Lyonesse will be leading an all-new faction, the Chevaliers de Lyonesse. Plus, Creative Assembly have now revealed her campaign start position…
Repanse de Lyonesse – Total War: Warhammer 2 Start Position
Unlike Malus Darkblade and Deathmaster Snikch, Creative Assembly hasn’t yet revealed Repanse de Lyonesse’s Lord and Faction Effects. However, they have now revealed her campaign start positions. In both the Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns, Repanse will start in the city of Copher; the settlement in the western side of the Coast of Araby. This places her amongst the other Bretonnian crusader factions which control the northern coast of the Southlands; factions which will likely be key allies for the Chevaliers de Lyonesse. She will also start very close to Arkhan the Black, and in the Vortex campaign, also Deathmaster Snikch.
“Leading the faction of Chevaliers de Lyonesse,” explains Creative Assembly; “Repanse wages a chivalric conquest across the Southlands to ensure the foul filth of the undead, Skaven, and Greenskins are cleansed from the deserted plains. A very powerful close-combat warrior, she has several unique skills granting her a range of bonuses including Physical Resistance and Melee Defence for her and her army.”
A lot is still unknown about Repanse de Lyonesse. For example, it’s currently unknown what her Vortex campaign mechanics will be, since she will be the first Bretonnian faction to be playable in the Vortex campaign. Additionally, it seems likely that she will have her own variant tech tree; after all, a large section of the Bretonnian tech tree is dedicated to automatically confederating the other Bretonnian states. (States which aren’t present in Vortex, and are far away from Repanse in Mortal Empires.) It’s possible, for instance, that her tech tree will allow her to confederate the other Bretonnian factions in the Southlands instead. For now, fans will have to wait for the studio to release more information.
