Resident Evil 2 Ghost Survivors: How to Unlock the Gunslinger Infinite Ammo Accessory

Resident Evil 2’s new Ghost Survivors DLC comes with plenty of unlockables, including an entire bonus scenario. This scenario, titled ‘No Way Out’ functions as a pseudo-horde mode located in the game’s gas station location. Playing No Way Out is also how you can unlock a special infinite ammo accessory for all Ghost Survivors characters.

Resident Evil 2 Gunslinger unlock tips

Beating No Way Out is already a tall order since you must survive a close-quarters 100-zombie gauntlet. If you want the infinite-ammo granting ‘Neko Ears’ accessory though, get ready to really up your game. Unlocking the Neko Ears requires finishing No Way Out while firing no more than 60 handgun shots.

It’s a cruel twist considering the handgun is the most reliable No Way Out weapon, but it’s also doable. The below tips should help you succeed if you’re (no pun intended) shooting for the Gunslinger accessory.

Keep Track of your Shots Fired

If you pause the game, you can access the Ghost Survivors records section at any time. This section tracks how many shots you’ve fired in No Way Out so you don’t have to manually keep track.

Ditch Your Pistol When You’ve Used Up Your Shots

Ghost Survivors allows you to discard weapons and that’s exactly what you should do once you’ve reached 60 shots fired. It can be painful purposefully discarding your infinite ammo pistol, especially during the later zombie waves. If, however, you want to ensure you don’t accidently go over the 60-shot threshold, it’s your best option.

“Recycle” Certain Weapons When Able

Throughout the full No Way Out run, you’ll notice certain weapons actually drop multiple times. You’ll find two separate Spark Shots and two versions of the shotgun (one which has the long barrel attachment). When you use up your ammo for one, be sure to discard it so you can eventually grab the other. You’ll also find several SMG’s so, again, don’t be afraid to get rid of one when its ammo is spent.

Play To Each Weapon’s Strengths

Since you’ll be relying heavily on your non-pistol weapons, it helps to know how best to use them. Here’s a bulleted summary of how you should use each of the weapons you find:

  • SMG: Disabling zombies with leg shots, finishing off crawlers, and shooting fuel tank zombies. The SMG’s low stopping power means you shouldn’t bother with headshots or using it to engage Pale Heads.
  • Shotgun: The default shotgun is good for quickly head-shotting standard zombies but little else. The upgraded long barrel version, however, is great for dealing with Pale Heads.
  • Spark Shot: A full Spark Shot charge can kill virtually any foe, even a Pale Head. However, its long charge time means you should always put some distance between yourself and your target. Also, make sure you don’t accidently break line of sight by moving across a shelf or other obstacle.
  • Chemical Flamethrower: The flamethrower is hands down the best weapon for consistently dealing with zombie crowds. To conserve fuel, you can tap the trigger for short “spurts” of flame which continuously deal damage. For groups of tough zombies (A-Gear, Pale Head, etc.), the flamethrower is a godsend.
  • Anti-Tank Rocket Launcher: You should basically treat the rocket launcher as a last-ditch panic button of sorts. Try to only use it against groups of enemies, and only if there are tougher zombies in the group. The blast from a rocket can damage you if you’re too close, but not by much.
