Developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the team is working on a fix for Apex Legends Hitboxes. The hitboxes are currently a topic of controversy among the community and, thankfully, it looks like a solution is on the way. However, we don’t know exactly when this solution will drop but we do know it is coming soon, likely in an upcoming update.
For those who don’t know, the Apex Legends Hitboxes are essentially boxes around your character. These boxes act as the place that a hit must meet in order to deal damage. While this includes melee attacks, of course, this also includes your bullets. If you aim for an enemy’s chest, the damage will work because you hit the appropriate area of the hitbox.
Obviously, some sections like the head can have different damage and so on. The problem with Apex Legends Hitboxes lies in the size of them. Certain characters like Gibraltar have much larger hitboxes than other characters like Wraith. This makes it much easier to hit Gibraltar due to his size. In addition, some characters have wonky hitboxes.
For example, if you were to shoot Bloodhound between the legs, it wouldn’t act as a hit because you didn’t hit them. However, if you shoot Pathfinder between the legs, it will still hit the Apex Legends Hitboxes even though the robot has nothing there physically. Thankfully, it looks like a fix for these bizarre issues is on the way.
The Respawn Entertainment community manager took to Reddit recently to reveal this news. It is a tricky situation to fix since most other Battle Royales like Fortnite have different looks for characters but they are all roughly the same physical size. While we wait for a fix, be sure to check out how to fix the infinite loading screen error and if Bloodhound is a girl.
