Respawn Rolls Out the First Big Update for Apex Legends Arenas

This week, Apex Legends Arenas got its first new map since the game mode launched, with Skull Town coming to the mode as part of the Genesis Collection Event. Launching alongside that event was a major game update, part of which was the first general update for Arenas itself.

Apex Legends Arenas: What’s in the Latest Update

While Apex Legends Arenas may have just got a new map, players will find the mode a little different now. The first change in the latest update is a general rebalancing of prices, with more than 20 individual adjustments to the cost of weapons, utilities, and Legend abilities. See below for the full list.

The update also includes a few quality-of-life improvements for Arenas. A scoreboard is now visible on the map screen, for example. Care packages will now land 5 seconds earlier, the 6x Scope is now a Lvl 1 upgrade, and from the 3rd round onwards, players will start with a shield battery along with their 2 syringes and 2 shield cells. Finally, you can now report players from the map screen by pressing Space/Y.

In addition to a few bug fixes, the new Apex Legends Arenas update makes a couple of tweaks to two maps; Party Crasher and Phase Runner. The former should now favour downtown more, thanks to circle logic adjustments, and should also have a clearer minimap. Phase Runner, meanwhile, should now offer better cover. The height of certain props throughout the map have been increased and extra trees have been added.

Apex Legends Arenas – Legend Balance Changes

  • Pathfinder: Pathfinder’s Grapple will now start with 2 charges instead of 3. Their Zipline ability, meanwhile, will now cooldown every other round instead of every round.
  • Octane: The cooldown of Octane’s Launch Pad has gone up from every round to every other round. Additionally, he will now start with 2 Stim charges instead of 3.
  • Rampart: The cooldown of Rampart’s Sheila has gone down from every 3 rounds to every other round.
  • Wattson: Wattson’s Interception Pylon now has a cooldown of every other round instead of every round.
