Apex Legends has recently been enjoying a boost in popularity, with the game’s third season attracting a new surge of players, giving the game its best month since launch. Now, timed to launch ahead of the holidays, Respawn has opened the Apex Legends Shop. This isn’t some micro-transaction-based in-game store, however; it’s an online store for real-world Apex Legends merchandise.
The New Apex Legends Shop
In the past, Respawn and EA have partnered with third-party companies to produce Apex Legends merch, like the ranges of Apex Legends figurines produced by Weta Workshop. However, there hasn’t been a first-party merch store for the game. Gearbox recently announced the new store, and its website, stating; “Just in time for the holidays, we’re excited to announce the Apex Legends Shop. If you’re looking for a perfect gift for that special Lifeline main in your life, or you want to start building out your own collection, we’ve got lots of awesome merch to check out.”
The Apex Legends shop is available at playapexshop.com and currently offers a range of merch items, including clothing, travel mugs, and more. At present, the shop offers solely clothing, drinkware, and “accessories” (actually hats, socks, and a blanket). However, Respawn’s announcement post does suggest that more will be coming in the future; “[…] stay tuned for new additions in the future”. Certainly, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the studio add prints, posters, or collectibles in the future. (Especially given the wealth of impressive concept art that was created for the game.)
The Apex Legends Shop is just the latest developer’s online retailer to launch this year. Earlier in 2019, CD Projekt Red launched their CD Projekt Red Store; currently the only place where fans can get Cyberpunk 2077 merch. That store offers clothing, posters, prints, and even highly-detailed statues like a recent Witcher 3 Geralt Ronin statue.
