The Genesis Collection Event hasn’t even ended yet, and already, Respawn has announced the next upcoming Apex Legends event! Hot on the heels of the current event, the new Apex Legends: Thrillseekers event will be starting on the 13th of July, the same day that the Genesis Collection Event draws to a close.
The Apex Legends: Thrillseekers Event
Thrillseekers is a special event which focuses specifically on Apex Legends’ new Arenas game mode. During the Genesis Collection Event, Arenas got its first new map, as Kings Canyon’s Skull Town came to the mode. However, this map is a temporary addition, rather than a permanent one. Thrillseekers, on the other hand, will introduce Arenas’ first new permanent map; Overflow.
The biggest difference between Overflow and the existing maps is that it’s lane-based. The lava flows which give the map its name divide it into several distinct lanes, forcing players to approach the map in a different way. The lane separation also limits opportunities for long-range sniping, putting the emphasis on shorter-range skirmishing. “Overflow feels pretty different from our other maps,” writes Respawn; “and our hope is that it will feel rewarding for both defensive and aggressive players alike.”
Apex Legends Thrillseekers will last three weeks, from the 13th of July to the 3rd of August. Each week, players will be able to earn points for an event-exclusive prize track, with a new track available each week. The first and third weeks offer skins and other cosmetics, while week 2 offers extra Apex Packs and Battle Pass boosters. Players will be able to earn up to 1,000 points each day, with challenges refreshing on a daily basis. Finally, the last part of the event is “The Summer Splash Sale”. Until the 27th of July, Respawn will be bringing back a few fan-favourite skins and holding a sale in the in-game store.
