Earlier this week, Bethesda revealed the launch date for the upcoming Fallout 76 Beta. The event will begin in late October. In addition, it will be beginning one full week earlier than other platforms on the Xbox One. Alongside the announcement, Bethesda updated the information on their official Beta FAQ; among the new information is the download size for the upcoming beta version of Fallout 76.
The Download Size for the Fallout 76 Beta
With the announcement of the Fallout 76 Beta launch dates, Bethesda has made several alterations to the online FAQ. Concerning the download size of the beta; “The B.E.T.A. will be approximately 45GB in size,” states Bethesda; “Currently, the B.E.T.A. will not be available for pre-load”. Given the size of the download and the fact that it won’t be available for pre-load; fans should probably aim to download the beta as soon as possible once it launches. With so many participants, there are bound to be server slowdowns and the like. Bethesda has also not clarified how long the beta will go on for. There is no official end date for the event yet.
In another question, Bethesda clarified that the Fallout 76 Beta version and the final release of the game will be separate versions on consoles. Although Bethesda is planning to allow users on all platforms to transfer their progress from the beta to the full release, console users will have to re-download the game in November. PC players, however, will not have to re-download the game. The PC version of Fallout 76 Beta will simply become the full game when it launches. Also worth noting is that Achievements and Trophies will not feature during the beta, even though progress will carry over. It remains to be seen if the game will retro-actively recognise that a player has completed an achievement.
