Following the shocking murder of Forge at the end of a recent video released by Respawn, it seemed clear that Revenant, his robotic killer, would take his place as the new Legend in Apex Legends Season 4. That has now been officially confirmed, and Respawn has offered fans a better look at Revenant in the season’s launch trailer. It turns out that Revenant has good reason for his vendetta against Hammond Robotics…
Revenant is Coming in Apex Legends Season 4
Throughout this week, Respawn has been teasing the upcoming release of Revenant with the start of Apex Legends Season 4 on social media. Much of the murderous robot’s backstory is still unknown. However, he appears to have been targeting Hammond Robotics for some time, and the new launch trailer shows the reason why. However, the question remains; why and how would this robotic killer enter into the Apex Games, especially after committing murder on live television?
Earlier today, Respawn released an email exchange between Jacob Young, the Syndicate’s Director of PR, and Cheryl Amacci of Hammond Robotics. In the exchange, the two discuss what to do about Revenant. Initially, Young says that somebody named Newcastle is next in line to join the Apex Games, as he placed second behind Forge. However, Amacci suggests using the Games to keep Revenant busy; “If only there was some way to keep him busy,” she writes; “while also keeping an eye on him. Shame you don’t know any murder competitions to hide your murder robot in…”
When Young raises concerns about putting a murderer into the Games and how that will look, Amacci suggests pitching Revenant as their new ‘villain’. “Besides, weren’t you just saying how you were missing a villain?” she continues; “That Nox is too obsessed with science, and ever since he started getting paternal with the girl, he’s lost his edge?” Certainly, the role does make sense for Revenant’s character. At present, it’s still unclear how they are going to actually get Revenant into the Apex Games, however. (Although this will no doubt be explained in the coming days.) For now at least, this does give fans an explanation for why the killer robot is going to end up competing in Apex Legends Season 4.
