After its lengthy beta period, Valorant is finally out fully, and with its launch has come that of the Act I Battlepass. Valorant’s first Battlepass, which features 10 Chapters and a range of different rewards, is split between both free and Premium paid tiers. However, Riot Games has promised that fans will find no trace of pay-to-win in the Premium sections.
The Act I Valorant Battlepass – Free & Premium Tiers
In a recent summary of the Act I Valorant Battlepass released by Riot, the studio details how the Premium part of the pass actually works. Specifically, they explain that; “People that don’t opt-in to the Premium Battlepass should still be able to earn the rewards that commemorate their participation during the Battlepass’ duration,” going on to state that; “If you purchase the Premium version of the Battlepass, you will simply get more rewards. There is no pay to win.”
Essentially, each Valorant Battlepass is divided between 10 Chapters, each of which features 5 Premium tiers. If you’re playing for free, then you don’t actually earn the Premium rewards for completing each tier. However, you do still earn a free Chapter completion reward for each Chapter you finish. At any point, players can pay for the Premium pass and retroactively get any rewards they would have already unlocked. In summary, free players should get 10 Chapter completion rewards through the course of the Act I Battlepass, while Premium players will get a further 50 Premium rewards.
Importantly, however, while Premium players may get plenty more rewards, these rewards offer no tangible advantages. Standard Battlepass rewards include Weapon Skins, Gun Buddies, Sprays, and Titles, for example. A final Weapon Skin is also available if you complete the Act I Battlepass. If you complete Chapter 10, you’ll unlock the Kingdom Classic sidearm skin. If you have the Premium pass, you’ll also get the Kingdom Melee knife skin.
