Rockstar is Offering Celebratory Bonuses in GTA and Red Dead Online
As always, Rockstar had a variety of things on offer for players in both GTA Online and Red Dead Online during the holiday period. In addition to the snowy rework of the games’ maps, there were store discounts, special item giveaways, not to mention The Diamond Casino Heist! All of this, according to the studio, actually contributed to a record-breaking holiday season for both games. As a result, Rockstar is now offering celebratory bonuses as thanks to their ever-dedicated community.
Rockstar’s New Red Dead and GTA Online Bonuses
“Thanks to you all,” writes Rockstar; “Grand Theft Auto Online is entering its seventh year more popular than ever. After breaking records for daily, weekly, and monthly average players in July and August consecutively following the release of The Diamond Casino and Resort, the December launch of The Diamond Casino Heist broke even those records, bringing players back in bigger numbers than ever before over the holiday period.”
GTA Online’s record-breaking figures were actually mirrored over in Red Dead Online. Following the Moonshiners update in December, that game also hit a new peak for player numbers; a peak which was exceeded almost immediately in January. Interestingly, it wasn’t just a huge month for the games themselves, but also for YouTube content creators. According to Rockstar, December 30th to January 5th was GTAV’s biggest week-long period ever for views on YouTube. To celebrate all of this success, Rockstar is offering a variety of Red Dead and GTA Online bonuses over the next couple of weeks.
Firstly, GTA Online players can now claim a massive cash bonus of GTA$2,000,000! You can claim the first million dollars simply by playing GTA Online any time from now until the 5th of February. Then, to claim the second million, you just need to play again between the 6th and the 13th. Over in Red Dead Online, players are getting access to new items and ammunition via two new bundles.
The first of these is The Gunslinger’s Cache. You can claim this by playing Red Dead Online between now and the 3rd of February. The cache includes a Schofield Revolver, Varmint Rifle, and the ‘Devastating Ammo Bundle’; 100x Split Point Revolver ammo, 100x High Velocity Pistol ammo, 100x Express Repeater ammo, 100x Slug Shotgun ammo, and 20x Explosive Rifle ammo. The second bonus is The Bounty Hunter’s Kit. To get this you’ll need to play anytime between the 4th and 10th of February. The kit contains a free Bounty Hunter license, as well as 25x Bolas, and 25x Tracking Arrows.
