Roman Reigns Comments on WWE 2K20 Game, Sharing Cover Honor With Becky Lynch
The upcoming WWE 2K20 video game will feature a pair of deserving superstars with Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch front and center. It’s the first cover of this type, and the first time a female superstar is featured on a WWE 2K video game cover. Recently, Roman Reigns spoke about the honor of being on the front of the new game and sharing it with Becky Lynch.
Roman Reigns strived for WWE 2K20 cover honor
Roman Reigns is a multiple-time champion within the WWE, having won tag team titles, and individual championships. However, he admitted that something else made him jealous and work hard to make sure he’d have a similar honor. When speaking to SI’s Justin Barrasso, Reigns mentioned feeling jealousy towards one of his brothers from The Shield.
“This means a lot, and it’s something I’ve been chasing,” Reigns said. “When I saw Seth [Rollins] on the cover and the commercial that he did, I’m not going to lie—I was so happy for him—but it was so cool that it did make me envious. ” Reigns goes on to mention, “This is one of those things as a WWE superstar, you want to have this opportunity, you want to be on the cover.”
While Seth Rollins had the WWE 2K cover entirely to himself, Roman Reigns has no issues whatsoever when it comes to sharing that honor with Becky Lynch. Reigns said, “To share this with Becky makes it even more special.” He continued, “To be able to share this past year with her, breaking barriers, I’m pretty proud of that.”
Women’s revolution, Reigns’ thoughts on new game
Reigns clearly respects how much the women’s division has accomplished over the past several years. They went from having main event matches on Raw or SmackDown to having their first-ever Hell in a Cell, Money in a Bank, Elimination Chamber, and Royal Rumble matches.
However, WrestleMania 35 featured the historic first-ever women’s main event at the big PPV, which pitted Becky Lynch against Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey. Ultimately, Becky left as dual champion, winning the match and claiming both women’s titles. Reigns called Becky “phenomenal” in terms of what she did and considers her just as deserving of the WWE 2K20 game’s cover.
As far as his opinion of the WWE 2K20 game, Reigns isn’t the biggest gamer in the WWE locker room but still appreciates what this year’s installment brings.
“They’ve done such a good job with the detail,” he said. “It feels realistic and there is so much reality in the game. Everybody seems to be so interested in our backstage life, so that story mode and the customizations give you that backstage feel.”
