Last June, PlayStation seemed to hint that some kind of Ape Escape game might be under development. That made sense, considering that 2019 was the 20th anniversary of Ape Escape. Now, we have an additional reason to believe that we are going to get to play some kind of Ape Escape title on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 soon.
Why an Ape Escape Game Could Be on the Way
Take a look at this tweet from @piposaru20th:
The translation from Google into English comes out as, “Happy New Year. This year also, exciting, wonderful! To send lots of important information!”
For those not around in the classic days, the first Ape Escape game came out in 1999 for the original PlayStation. The most recent title in the series was a spin-off, and that was clear back in 2010. The last time a title came out for the main series was all the way back in 2005! So, we have been waiting over a decade now.
So, what could a potential Ape Escape game for 2020 (or 2021) be? Could it be Ape Escape 4 at long last? Or could it be another spin-off What about a remake of one of the previous games, maybe the original? Also, it could be an idea we have not even thought of yet. Whatever it is, it sure would be exciting to finally get to play a new Ape Escape game!
Plus, as we wait to find out, there are lots of updates on PlayStation 5 with which you can catch up. For starters, you can read about how it has never been easier to make games on a PlayStation console than it is on the PS5. You can also read a prediction from analyst Piers Harding-Rolls about how the PS5 may beat the Xbox Series X for sales.
