Have you heard in the past that the Night City map in Cyberpunk 2077 will be smaller than the map in The Witcher 3? We now have a better idea what we can expect in terms of the map’s size thanks to a video from EdgeRunner Cold on YouTube. This YouTuber did a great job putting together a detailed estimate for the size of Night City, and provided a thorough explanation of his work.
Night City’s Size is Estimated to Be About Double That of Los Santos and Blaine
EdgeRunner Cold ends up comparing the suspected size of the Cyberpunk 2077 map to a map of Los Santos and Blaine from GTA 5. Based on his estimates, the Night City map may come out to around 225 square kilometres, versus the 105 square kilometres for Los Santos and Blaine. So, going by kilometre alone, the Cyberpunk 2077 city is going to be more than twice the size of the GTA 5 map.
He also points out that the map of Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of verticality to it. There are overpasses and multi-level buildings to explore, and this vertical build will add more to the size of the map that is hard to estimate. We also do not know how far the map area extends around the city itself.
Regardless, we are going to be finding out all these answers for ourselves in just a couple of days! Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on December 10th, 2020. If you are on PS5 or Xbox Series X, you will also be able to play the PS4 versions of the game through backwards compatibility. Eventually, it will be possible to upgrade to a PS5 version of the game in 2021. Keep up with all our Cyberpunk 2077 news.
