The specs for the Xbox Series X as well as the Xbox Series S are now public. Both of the consoles are generating a lot of excitement, but could the less powerful Xbox Series S face game optimization problems? One developer’s recent comment on Twitter alludes that this might be the case.
What Game Optimization Problems Can Xbox Series S Users Expect?
Sasan Sepehr, Senior Tech Producer at Remedy Games made the following tweet:
Sepehr said, “As a consumer, I love this! As a Technical Producer, I see trouble!!!”
Alas, he did not provide any further thoughts, so we don’t know exactly what technical problems he is referencing. But presumably, they have something to do with game optimization on that system. Regardless, keep in mind that this is one person’s opinion. And while that opinion is worth paying attention to given whose it is, we still don’t know much about what it could mean.
If you are not aware, the Xbox Series S will be a less powerful version of the Xbox Series X without an optical drive. The two consoles will both release on November 10th. But there will be a $200 price difference between them. The price for the Xbox Series X will be $499, but the price for the Xbox Series S will be only $299. This gives gamers who are shopping on a tight budget the option of saving a considerable amount of money if they do not need an optical drive or the full power of the Xbox Series X.
