Wish you could enjoy playing multiplayer games on your Xbox One or the Xbox Series X, but don’t want to pay for Xbox Live Gold? Soon, you may not have to. According to a recent rumor, Xbox free multiplayer may soon be replacing the Xbox Live Gold service.
Will We Bet Getting Xbox Free Multiplayer?
Right now, it is only possible to play Xbox One multiplayer games if you pay $60 for an annual membership in Xbox Live Gold. Needless to say, while this isn’t a lot of money every month, it is still annoying to have to pay for the privilege of multiplayer gameplay.
But now, Venture Beat journalist Jeff Grubb has stated that the Xbox Live Gold service will be replaced by free multiplayer. Indeed, this is how he interprets the fact that it is not currently possible to buy an Xbox Live Gold 12- or 24-month subscription. Other rumors suggest that Xbox Game Pas Ultimate could absorb Xbox Live Gold, but Grubb contends otherwise. And since he is a good source, it is worth considering that he might be right.
It certainly is an exciting thought—Xbox free multiplayer may be on the way for Xbox One and Xbox Series X! It is too soon to celebrate since there is no solid confirmation. But it would be awesome if this turns out to be the case. Saving money on multiplayer means more money available to purchase new games!
