Last week, when Infinity Ward launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3, the studio said that Warzone players could expect new game modes coming later in the season, in addition to Quads. Now, the first of these new modes has arrived; the new Warzone Scopes and Scatter Guns playlist, which was implemented in the game’s latest patch.

While Modern Warfare Season 3 primarily focused on bringing new content to the main game, it did also include the addition of Quads for Call of Duty: Warzone. At the time, Activision stated that players could; “expect to see more modes and playlists that change the loot pool to specific weapon types, and high action modes such as ‘Scopes and Scatter Guns’ (only sniper rifles & shotguns), in addition to other surprises.”
As it turns out, players didn’t have to wait long before they actually got to play that mode. The latest Modern Warfare/Warzone patch features the addition of a ‘Scopes and Scatter Guns’ BR Trios playlist, which replaces the game’s regular BR Trios playlist. The new playlist, as the name implies, only features shotguns and sniper rifles in its loot pools. Given its addition as a playlist, rather than a full mode, Scopes and Scatter Guns is likely to be a limited-time feature. Infinity Ward may eventually phase it out for other things. (Although it will probably return to the game periodically.) As such, if players want to give it a try, they should do so sooner rather than later.
In addition to Scopes and Scatter Guns, the new patch also introduces two new ‘Stir Crazy’ playlists to Modern Warfare. The standard ‘Stir Crazy’ playlist is a 10v10 playlist featuring Cranked, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint. The Hardcore ‘Stir Crazy’ playlist, meanwhile, features 10v10 Cranked, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Team Deathmatch. The patch did also remove NVG Realism Mosh Pit, however.
