Sea of Thieves: Where to Find All of the Skeleton Thrones

Sea of Thieves may have recently traded out its Skeleton Thrones event for a newer event involving exploding skeletons, but that doesn’t mean the thrones themselves aren’t still worth visiting. If you don’t mind embarking on a little scavenger hunt, we’ve included all of the Skeleton Throne locations below so you can nab any you may have missed while the event was active (or all of them if you skipped the event entirely).

Find the Skeleton Thrones and get yourself some cool rewards.

Why Find the Thrones Now?

The Skeleton Thrones event may be over, but finding and sitting on the thrones still awards commendations and doubloons for the Bilge Rat faction, and those commendations and doubloons can be put towards the unique cosmetic rewards the Bilge Rat faction offers. There are two types of thrones, small and large, and there are 10 thrones in total (five small and five large). You can sit on a small throne all by yourself to claim its rewards, but getting credit for a large throne will require sitting on it along with another player who isn’t part of your crew, so here’s hoping you don’t mind dealing with online strangers.

Throne Locations

The throne locations come courtesy of Redditor Dandysan who compiled a handy list that separates the thrones into small and large categories.

Small Thrones

  • Mermaid’s Hideaway – Across from the southern peak of the island
  • Hidden Spring Keep – The very top of the keep, use the southwest cannon to shoot yourself up to reach it
  • Thieves’ Haven – Located on the eastern rock face near the water
  • Quadrant N10 – Under the water in the middle of the uncharted island
  • Devil’s Ridge – The north side of the island, underneath the ridge that makes up the bottom half of the stone megaladon’s mouth

Large Thrones

  • Plunder Outpost – Up high on the eastern cliff edge
  • Marauder’s Arch – At the top of the southernmost ridge on the island
  • Shipwreck Bay – On the northernmost small island
  • Cannon Cove – Tucked into a hole at the top of the tallest rock on the island
  • Smuggler’s Bay – From the island in D2, proceed east and the throne is on the third out of four offshore rocks you pass by

If finding all the Skeleton Thrones feels like too much effort to get the Bilge Rat rewards, chances are good that some of them might one day be offered as microtransactions if that’s more your preference.
