Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One will officially launch next week, on the 16th of December. When it does, players will gain access to the game’s first-ever Battle Pass, along with a whole range of new content, including three new Operators and no less than five new weapons.
The New Black Ops Cold War Season One Weapons
Of the five weapons coming to Black Ops Cold War in Season One, not all will actually arrive on launch day. Some will be coming during the course of the season, while others will be available as Battle Pass tier rewards. These new weapons are as follows:
- MAC 10 (SMG): The first of two weapons available at launch, the MAC 10 is a new full-auto submachine gun. Its light weight contributes to fast handling and relatively little recoil, without compromising on damage. Players can unlock the MAC 10 for use at Tier 15 of the Season One Battle Pass. Just like weapons in Modern Warfare, these are included with the free tiers of the Battle Pass.
- Groza (Assault Rifle): After unlocking the MAC 10, players can unlock the Groza assault rifle at Tier 31. This weapon’s standout feature is its impressively fast handling and damage, making it a highly mobile assault option with a high rate of fire.
- Streetsweeper (Shotgun): The third new weapon, and the last actual firearm, the Streetsweeper shotgun won’t be available at launch. Instead, it will arrive at some stage mid-season. While its damage is lower than other shotguns, it makes up for this deficit by being fully-automatic.
- Sledgehammer (Melee): Along with the MAC 10, Groza, and Streetsweeper, Treyarch will be launching two new melee weapons during Season One. The first of these is the Sledgehammer; a heavy but powerful two-handed bludgeoning weapon.
- Wakizashi (Melee): The second melee weapon coming in Season One is the Wakizashi; a traditional Japanese short blade. Like the Streetsweeper and Sledgehammer, the Wakizashi will be available to unlock by completing a special Challenge.
