As the start date of the second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta weekend draws closer, Activision and Infinity Ward have released a second Modern Warfare Beta trailer. The video highlights key features of the second weekend, including Crossplay, as well as possibly giving fans some glimpses of Ground War; the major new game mode coming partway through the second Beta weekend.
The Second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta Weekend
As the new Modern Warfare Beta trailer states, the second Beta weekend is due to start on the 19th of September. You can check the exact start times by region by clicking here. The entire five-day event will be an Open Beta on PS4. Meanwhile, the 19th and 20th will be a two-day Early Access period on PC and Xbox One, only available to those who have pre-ordered the game. Late on the 20th, the event will transition into an Open Beta on those two platforms. Once again, you can check the exact start times for this change-over by clicking here.
Each day during the first weekend, Infinity Ward made new maps and playlists available to players. Certainly, fans can likely expect that trend to continue in the second weekend. Indeed, the studio has confirmed that a new mode called Ground War will be added to the Beta on the 21st of September, on day 3 of the Beta. Ground War is much larger than any other mode which has been available in the Beta so far; a 32v32 64-player game mode which takes place on a new map called Karst River Quarry.
Some of the areas of feedback which players raised during the first weekend will be getting fixes this week ahead of the second Beta. However, most of these areas require longer-term solutions, more likely to arrive for launch than for this weekend.
