All New Game Releases Coming Before the End of September (And More)

Following on from the release of Borderlands 3 earlier this month, there are actually a wealth of September game releases still to come in the next two weeks. Even though 2019 is a relatively quiet year for game releases due to the impending release of the next console generation, the September – November release window is usually the busiest in any year. In the next two weeks, gamers can look forward to titles like The Surge 2, Code Vein, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on Switch.

On the same day, the Switch is also getting The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Untitled Goose Game (also coming to PC). Four days later, on the 24th, is another bevy of new releases. Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear are all coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, as is Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition.

Finally, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is coming to PS4, but only in Japan.

Major Game Releases to Look Out for in October

Of course, there’s dozens of game releases coming in October as well. (Especially as we get deeper into the year’s busiest release window.) We’ll cover exactly what’s coming and when in more detail closer to the time. However, there are certain titles which stand out from the crowd, as it were, and which are worth making a note of. The first is, of course, the release of Shadowkeep; the next major DLC for Destiny 2, which is coming on the 1st of October. That will herald a major rework for Destiny 2 in general, and you can read much more about that here.

New Game Releases September Game Releases Ghost Recon Breakpoint

After that, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is coming on the 4th to PC, Xbox One, and PS4. After that, most of the month’s releases will be smaller titles, remasters, or games coming to new platforms post-launch. For instance, both Overwatch Legendary Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on the 15th of October. Of course, the largest release of the month is almost certainly going to be that of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. (Due to release on the 25th of October.) The second pre-launch Beta weekend for that game is due to start tomorrow; read more of the details about that here.

If Call of Duty isn’t your sort of game, then gamers also have The Outer Worlds to look forward to. In fact, that game will be releasing on the same day, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. First announced last year, The Outer Worlds is being developed by Obsidian, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas. Later in October, both Resident Evil 5 and 6 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. In the realm of sport gaming, WWE 2K20 will be coming to all platforms on the 22nd of October.
