Not all Fallout 76 side quests need to be sought out. In some cases, they’ll come to you. There’s no surefire way to know when the Fallout 76 Falsely Accused side quest will start for you, but it will only occur when you’re in the Toxic Valley region. Moreover, it won’t start until you complete the Bureau of Tourism side quest. Once you do that, you may find yourself accosted by some robotic Marshals…
How to Complete the Fallout 76 Falsely Accused Side Quest
The Fallout 76 Falsely Accused side quest spawns randomly at some point as you travel through the Toxic Valley after you’ve done Bureau of Tourism. Robotic Marshals (the exact kind of robot may vary with a player’s level), will suddenly attack you. Destroy your attackers and then loot their wreckage to recover a warrant; it appears that you have been mistaken for a wanted criminal, and the robots are determined to either kill or apprehend you.
Once you’ve read the note, the Falsely Accused quest should officially begin. You’ll need to make your way to the Eastern Regional Penitentiary, which can be found in the Toxic Valley. This huge site is likely to be overrun with Super Mutants. Fight your way through and head upstairs to the Warden’s office and control room, near the centre of the complex. Here you can speak with the Warden, who will send you to reactivate the prison’s turrets.
After speaking with the Warden, several security stations will be marked on your map. Visit each of these stations and authorise the activation of the turrets at each one. Once this is complete, return to the warden for your reward, (and the removal of the mistaken bounty on your head). The quest rewards include random ammo and aid items, but more importantly a robot torso armour piece and Civil Unrest; a modded pump-action shotgun.
