The third season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be launching in just a few days’ time, and as such, players are poised to get their hands on a range of new weapons. Among the six new additions to the game’s armoury is a classic of the Call of Duty franchise; the Ballistic Knife.
Black Ops Cold War Season 3: Six New Weapons
Deviating from the first two seasons, Treyarch will be making three of the new weapons available during launch week, rather than two. Typically, two weapons have been available to unlock in the free tiers of each Battle Pass, and so have been available from launch. The first of the Season 3 Battle Pass weapons will be the PPSh-41 SMG; a classic and highly aggressive submachine gun. Players can unlock the PPSh-41 by reaching Tier 15 in the Battle Pass.
Two more weapons will also be coming in launch week, although it hasn’t been confirmed whether they will be included in the Battle Pass. Certainly, it seems likely that the second firearm, the Swiss K31 Sniper Rifle, will be. Typically, a second firearm is available at around Tier 31. The other new weapon is a true franchise classic; the Ballistic Knife. According to Activision, the knife will be available from launch in Black Ops Cold War. However, it won’t be coming to Warzone until later in the season.
Three further Season 3 weapons will be coming to both games mid-season as well. Unlike Seasons 1 & 2, which included more melee weapons, only one other melee weapon is included in this category; the Baseball Bat. Players can thus look forward to two more firearms. The first of these is the AMP63 Pistol, which will be the game’s first full-auto sidearm. Finally, Treyarch will be adding the CARV.2 Tactical Rifle, a decidedly unique-looking addition to the armoury.
