Fans of skateboarding video games should rest assured, a Skate 4 game is still on the way. While an official trailer, release date or pre-order details have yet to arrive, a teaser has. In the Skate 4 teaser trailer, fans got motion capture and open-world design teases, along with the excited reactions of community members.
New Skate 4 teaser trailer released
Full Circle announced Skate 4 wouldn’t be part of EA Play this year and instead released a quick video update. In a Skate 4 teaser trailer called “We’re Working On It,” the developer gave fans an update on what’s been going on with Skate 4. The video (below) features various individuals from the community who got sneak peeks of the game screens, and they seem quite excited by it.
The brief video presents various behind-the-scenes footage including motion capture work with attention to detail. In addition, they teased an open-world design, character customization, and co-op play available in the still-being-developed title. There’s also one community member who mentions climbing and another saying “your game is in the future.” Both are curious teases of what’s to come.
Check it out to get a hint of what may be on the way at some point in the future.
Last year, fans were teased that Skate 4 was on the way. This year, there was slightly more of a teaser that a game is being created, but unfortunately, still no solid details on a release timeframe.
Tony Hawk, Skater XL titles available
Within the past year or so, fans of skateboarding video games have received a few titles to keep their attention. These have included Skater XL and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 titles, both released in 2020.
The Tony Hawk title received an aggregate score of 89 on Metacritic based on 74 critical receives, with a User Score of 8.8 from 510 ratings. Meanwhile, Skater XL, also on PS4 received less-than-favorable reviews, coming in at 57 on Metacritic with 28 reviews. The User Score sits at 5.3 out of 10 based on 99 ratings.
The new Skate 4 teaser trailer seems to indicate something stellar is on the way from Full Circle. The Metascore for Skate 3, released back in May 2020, is 80 for the PlayStation 3 game with 46 critics reviewing it. Users also gave favorable reviews, with 128 ratings giving it an average of 8 out of 10.
So while a Skate 4 release date has yet to be given, at least it seems that there is a game on the way, at some point in the future. Stay tuned, as more details could emerge in the coming months from Full Circle and EA.
