The new skateboarding simulation game Skater XL will be making its way to consoles very soon. The new game, which features iconic California locations and skate legends will be available for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PCs. Skater XL release date and pre-order details
The Skater XL release date for PS4 and Xbox One is set for Tuesday, July 7. There doesn’t appear to be any sort of early access or demo situation for the game which many other sports games tend to have. However, the new game from Easy Day Studios has a lower price than most sports games at just $49.99 a copy.
United States customers can pre-order at Gamestop here and also pre-order at Best Buy here. For Canada, the game is available for pre-order at EB Games and Walmart. In Australia, EB Games, JB HI-Fi, and The Gamesmen are offering pre-orders. EU customers can pre-order through the Game.Co.UK website.
What will Skater XL game include?
Once the Skater XL release date officially arrives, gamers will be able to create their own skateboarding tricks and scenarios. It’s a virtual skate world featuring “block after block of plazas, schools, pools, buildings, car parks and corridors” in iconic California locations.
The official Skater XL website mentions that skating iconic Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith, Tom Asta, and Brandon Westgate will be featured in the game.
Gamers will be able to play as these icons throughout their journey in the game. However, the gamer’s own character is customizable with unique gears including tees, hoodies, hats, and shoes.
Creativity and community will be key features of this game as Skater XL will have 10s of thousands of community members contributing their unique creations. The community will develop skate zines, video parts, and mods to help the game continuously evolve to new levels.
