Some Sony Direct PS5 Pre-Orders Will Ship in December

If you pre-ordered the PS5 through any seller, you are ridiculously lucky. Not a lot of gamers got a chance. But did you pre-order directly through Sony? If so, you may want to be aware that some Sony direct PS5 pre-orders will ship in December, not November. That really highlights the supply shortfalls, doesn’t it? Let’s take a look at the details.

PS5 Pre-Orders Will Ship in December to Some Customers Who Ordered Direct from Sony

MP1st obtained a screenshot of an email from Sony to a pre-order customer with the text, “Thank you for your recent order. As you are likely aware, there has been a huge demand for the PlayStation 5 console and we thank you for your patience. Sony can advise that your order is part of our first shipment allocation. Your expected delivery date is mid November 2020.”

Note the phrase “first shipment allocation.” What is going on with the next shipment allocation? Well, according to some folks at Reddit, they got a similar email. But instead of listing November as a shipment timeframe, the email listed December. Now, it should be noted that those Redditors were discussing Sony Australia specifically. So, it may be that the shipment allocations are regional. Regardless, you should look in your inbox for your email from Sony to find out whether you can expect your shipment in November or December. Hopefully, all of the pre-orders will go out this year!

All of this highlights just how long those who have not managed to pre-order the PS5 are likely going to find themselves waiting. If you do not get a pre-order in, it seems logical to assume you may well be waiting until next year to get your shipment. Of course, that is just our speculation. We’ll have to see what happens.
