Sony Addresses PlayStation Network Difficulties

Have you been experiencing PlayStation Network difficulties since installing the most recent update to PS4? A lot of gamers have been reporting a variety of problems impacting features such as messaging and parties. Some users have not managed to access any features of PSN since the update. Even logging in has been impossible for a few. Thankfully, Sony just chimed in on the matter, so we know they know what is going on.

What Sony Said About the PlayStation Network Difficulties

AskPlayStation on Twitter posted the following on October 14th:

https://twitter.com/AskPlayStation/status/1316450529262829572?s=20

The text says, “We’re aware users are experiencing difficulties accessing specific functions of PlayStation Network at this time. We’re currently investigating. Thank you for your patience.”

Is that massively reassuring? Well, no—we don’t know what Sony is actually doing about the issue, or how soon a fix might be available. “We’re currently investigating” is vague. Nor did we find any additional details in the comments, which mostly focused on other issues. But at least we know now that Sony is aware of the problems, and that is a start. They are actively working on it, so hopefully we will not need to wait too long before everything is working with PSN again. If Sony provides any more updates on the situation, we will let you know the latest.

In other PlayStation news, Sony has announced that there are just 10 PS4 games that are not compatible with PS5. You can also view details on how you can upgrade eligible PS4 games to PS5 versions. Also, it may be useful to know that if you want to enjoy 3D audio at launch on PS5, you will need compatible headphones.
