According to a recent job posting from Sony, the company is looking at adapting “PlayStation’s most popular franchise for mobile.” Let’s find out more about this new development and what it may mean for gamers on mobile devices.
Will Sony Adapt PlayStation’s Most Popular Franchises for Mobile?
You can take a look at the job listing for yourself here. The name of the position is “Head of Mobile, PlayStation Studios.” The location is San Mateo, CA or Los Angeles, CA. The listing says, “As Head of Mobile, you will own and develop the mobile games strategy for PlayStation Studios and help build a foundation for future growth opportunities. You will lead all aspects of the expansion of our game development from consoles and PCs to mobile & Live Services with a focus on successfully adapting PlayStation’s most popular franchises for mobile. You will be responsible for building and scaling a team of mobile leaders and will serve as the Head of this new business unit within PlayStation Studios.”
What is also noteworthy is that the company lists a timeframe of 3-5 years for its “mobile product roadmap.” So, it sounds like we still have a bit of a wait ahead of us, but not it won’t be all that long. Needless to say, if you think you might be the person Sony is looking for, you should turn in your job application right away.
