As unlikely as it may sound, there are rumors going around that we might be able to play PS4 games on Nintendo Switch in the future. Is Sony Remote Play coming to Nintendo Switch?
Why Sony Remote Play May Be Compatible with Nintendo Switch in the Future
The rumor originated on YouRedditHereFirst. The poster writes, “I just took a survey for Sony regarding their Remote Play and there were some interesting questions that possibly hint at upcoming features.” They follow this with a list of possible features. The second one is, “Playing Remote Play on a Switch, AppleTV, AndroidTV.”
They continue, “Allowing multiple users on the same device with smaller controllers would directly compete with the Switch (not beat, just compete). And, allowing multiple users to use Remote Play on different devices including the Switch, AppleTV, and phones all at once? That would be amazing to see.”
Right after that, they mention, “I also want to add that the survey asked about using Remote Play on XBox systems but I don’t play on XBox and just forgot to include that.”
How likely is any of this regarding Sony Remote Play to come to pass? At this point, nobody can say. Assuming the survey is real (we don’t see any major reason to question that), Sony is just conducting research at this point to establish whether it would be worth it to look into something like this. But that doesn’t meant that those plans are in the immediate future, or that there is a guarantee that Sony will follow through at all. Although, it sure would be awesome if they did.
