We have all been holding our breaths for the PlayStation 5 for what feels like forever. We know that the next gen console will release at some point during the holiday season in 2020. But, we still don’t know the exact PS5 release date. Still, we may be closer to finding out. How do we figure? Because there are already some retailers that are gearing up to send out pre-order notifications for the PlayStation 5. That means that soon, we may be able to pre-order the PS5.
Retailers May Be Getting Ready to Let Customers Pre-Order the PS5
The story seems to have originated at Spiel Times. When we try to click through to that link, we get a timeout error right now. But apparently, retailers such as GAME, Best Buy, Game Mania and Dustinhome are busy accepting sign-ups for PlayStation 5 pre-order notifications as we speak.
So, if you shop at one of these retailers, you can sign up right now to be notified when pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 become available. This tells us nothing specific regarding when that might be. But, it does tell us generally that it cannot be all that far into the future.
As mentioned previously, Sony has not yet announced what precise date the PlayStation 5 will hit stores. The most recent rumor that we heard was that it could be in November. According to the same source who cited that timeframe, the price might be $499. Do we think that this sounds about right? It is hard to guess on the price, but November does seem like a more logical month than December in order to maximize sales. But, it is only a rumor, and we don’t know how reliable the source is.
Since stores are reportedly taking signups for pre-order notifications, we are guessing it will not be long before we hear further news on how to pre-order the PS5. So, please check our PlayStation news again soon for updates. No matter what, we’re getting and closer to the arrival of the PlayStation 5 and a new generation of gaming.
