In the wake of the potential Generation 4 release, Nantic has added Spinda to the Pokemon GO roster. The Pokemon isn’t yet obtainable the classic catch-them-all way but instead you’ll have to grind your way through the field research tasks to get one of its versions.
According to Niantic a variety of different Spinda variations could be found in the game, saying that every Spinda will have a different pattern and no second can be found with the same one. However, leakers have found out that only 8 versions of the gen 3 Pokemon can be found in the game’s files and even stranger is the fact that only the 8th version of it is available to obtain alltogether.
This just fueled the discussions about Pokemon Go getting its 4th generation added soon. Users on Redit claim that this is some kind of countdown, meaning that the 4th genertion is releasing in 8 days. This sounds too complicated to be true but who are we to judge?
Spinda can only be obtained after completing a Field Research quest ( landing three nice curveballs in a row). After completing it you will get an encounter and that’s how you get your new “swirly” Pokemon.
What’s interesting to note about the release of Spinda and the discoussion about the release of gen-4 is that Niantic has previously rolled out big generation updates on 9th August last year. Coincidentaly, 9th of August this year comes 8 das after the release of Spinda, which has 8 variants with only one obtainable. Now the countdown kind of makes sense right?
For what it’s worth, go down for a walk today, spin some pokestops and find the curveball quest to get your new Spinda. Don’t forget that completing you Field Research stamps will reward you with a Raiku, succeding July’s Snorlax and June’s Articuno.
