Spoils of War: Where to Find All the Alfheim Artifacts in God of War
The “Spoils of War” are one of God of War’s many collectible sets. This particular set is hidden throughout the realm of Alfheim, which you will visit during “The Light of Alfheim” story quest. Like every set of collectibles in God of War, finding each artifact will reward you with XP, and you’ll get another boon of XP for completing the set. Moreover, you can sell the artifacts to Brok or Sindri, earning a tidy sum for your trouble.
Unlike the “Family Heirloom” collectible set, which is scattered through Helheim, you can collect all of the Spoils of War set on your first trip to Alfheim. To save yourself time later, it’s worth taking the time to do so during The Light of Alfheim. You won’t reach the first of the five artifacts until you reach the Lake of Light.
Where to Find the Spoils of War
Once you arrive at the Lake of Light, paddle your boat along the left-hand shoreline. Eventually, you’ll come to an area called the Light Elf Shore. Pull the boat onto the beach and disembark, then turn right. The first artifact is at the end of the pier which juts back out into the lake.
The second artifact is also on the Lake of Light. This collectible can be found in the Light Elf Sanctuary. Follow the shoreline to the right until you reach the Sanctuary. There, make your way through the structure. Pass through the puzzle you need to open a door and stop when you reach a drop that leads back out onto the beach. The second artifact is lying on the ground there.
The final three artifacts are all located in the central temple, though it will be a while before you reach the first of them. After Atreus is snatched by Dark Elves, you will battle an Ancient. Once it is defeated, you can activate several bridges from its platform. The left-hand bridge leads to the third Spoil of War.
The fourth artifact will not appear for a while after the third. Once you use an elevator to descend into a dark area, turn around. The collectible should be located in a cell behind the elevator. When you enter the main section of the trench you will activate a light bridge on your left-hand side. The next chamber includes a series of cells filled with draugr, which you will promptly release by bringing down a crystal. The final Spoil of War can be found in one of the cells.
