In addition to the reveal of the upcoming Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC at PAX East, Gearbox has now given Borderlands 3 fans a host of new details about to what to expect in the coming months. The new Borderlands 3 content roadmap for Spring 2020 includes a new Takedown, a new event, and a major update in addition to the DLC.
The Borderlands 3 Content Roadmap for Spring 2020
Of course, the next big thing which Borderlands 3 fans can look forward to is the release of Guns, Love, and Tentacles. The second major story DLC will be launching on the 26th of March. However, Gearbox has something coming every month after that. In April, for example, a free update will be bringing the long-awaited Mayhem Mode 2.0 rework. This “end-game update,” will deliver a major overhaul to the game’s Mayhem Mode, something which fans have been requesting for quite some time.
Of course, there are likely to be smaller events throughout the Borderlands 3 schedule in the next few months which aren’t included on the content roadmap. However, April will see the launch of a more significant in-game event called Revenge of the Cartels. This free event will include unique rewards, most likely new cosmetics and Legendary weapons, and will challenge players to; “take out Cartel Operatives”. Given its place in the roadmap, it’s likely that this event will be of similar size to Bloody Harvest.
Finally, May will be the final month of the Borderlands 3 Content Roadmap for Spring 2020. During that month, a free content update will deliver the second Takedown mission, following on from the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite. While Gearbox has yet to reveal details about this mission, it is referred to as the; “Guardian Takedown,” on the content roadmap, and is apparently; “Eridian-themed”. Like the first Takedown, this mission will feature new bosses and new loot, including both cosmetics and Legendary gear. Following these upcoming events and releases, Gearbox will likely release the third Borderlands 3 story DLC in the Summer.
