Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s latest update has added two new fighters to the game’s roster: the imposing villain Sagat and the self-proclaimed “President of the World” G.
Both of the new fighters are available to purchase and play as of this writing, and you can check out their respective introduction videos below.
As you can see in the above video, Sagat operates in a very similar manner as his past Street Fighter appearances, devastating opponents at both close and long range with his Tiger Shot, Tiger Uppercut, and Tiger Knee Crush attacks. The whole tiger motif continues with Sagat’s new V-Trigger skills, Tiger Charge and Tiger Assault, showing how easily Sagat can control the pace of a battle when handled by a skilled player.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, G is a brand new fighter who appears to have heroic aspirations (at least going by his dialogue and overall demeanor). G refers to himself as a “Man of Mystery” and as a presidential figure who wants to unite the people of Earth against the forces of darkness. Judging from the above video, it looks like G draws strength from the Earth itself to unleash fire and magma-based attacks while his V-Trigger Maximum President and Dangerous President skills tie into the whole “Uncle Sam as a buff martial arts master” motif.
Players who own Street Fighter 5’s season 3 character pass can download and play as G and Sagat for free. Both fighters can also be purchased for $5.99 or 100,000 Fight Money apiece. Purchasing the season 3 character pass also grants access to previously released DLC fighters Cody, Blanka, Falke, and Sakura.
In other fighting game news, The Walking Dead’s Negan has been confirmed as the next guest fighter for Tekken 7, and last weekend’s Dragon Ball FighterZ Evo 2018 Grand Finals reportedly drew in the highest concurrent number of viewers of any Evo event ever.
