Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Weekly Roundup (9/23-9/27)

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is almost here and the news keeps coming. More details regarding the game appear on the Super Smash Blog, the official blog regarding the franchise. Let’s recap the news from the week.

Sunday (9/23)

The only news we got this day confirms a new assist trophy. The Moon Assist Trophy comes from The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask and it slowly approaches the stage. Once it does, it unleashes a massive amount of damage to your opponents.

Monday (9/24)

Nintendo shed more light on Lucina, Marth’s Echo fighter from the Fire Emblem series. Echo fighters are characters that have similar abilities to another character. Among those in the game are Daisy/Peach, Simon Belmont/Richter Belmont, and Pit/Dark Pit. Marth’s attacks are more powerful depending on the direction of his blade and Lucina’s are just as powerful.

Tuesday (9/25)

This day we got two new tidbits. The first one is that we got a new music track. Among the 900 tracks featured, Battle (Steven), composed by Soshi Abe, comes from Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Additionally, a returning stage was shown off. Brinstar from the Metroid series makes a comeback. The blog post points out that acid is below the stage which can deal serious damage.

Wednesday (9/26)

A new item was highlighted. The death scythe from the Castlevania series was shown off and it can KO an opponent that’s highly damaged. To signify an instant KO, a black aura will engulf your opponent.

Thursday (9/27)

For the last piece of info for the week, Lucario was highlighted. It’s one of several Pokemon fighters represented in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Its attack power increases with each hit it takes.

That’s all the Super Smash Blog updates we have for now. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hits Nintendo Switch on December 7th. For more news regarding it and many other games, keep it locked to VGR.
