Resident Evil fans playing on Switch will be thrilled to hear that ports of Resident Evil 5 and 6 will be coming to the Nintendo platform. This news emerged at E3 along with announcements for a few other games on their way to Switch. Nintendo revealed this news during the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, and even showed off a trailer.
Resident Evil 5 and 6 and Other Games Are Coming to Switch
You can take a look at the Switch port trailer for Resident Evil 5 and 6 below:
Resident Evil 4 has already been ported to Switch, although it was without motion controls. Nintendo offered no comment at E3 on whether there will likewise be control changes with Resident Evil 5 and 6 on Switch. We are guessing the answer is likely “no,” however, since gamers were quite vocal about their dismay at the missing motion controls in Resident Evil 4. There would be an uproar if the same mistake were to be made twice.
But how soon will Switch gamers be able to enjoy Resident Evil 5 and 6? Nintendo still has not given a release date. But they did state that it should happen sometime this autumn. So we only need to wait a little bit longer before we are enjoying these great titles on Switch. If we were to hazard a guess as to which month the games will arrive, we would say October. That would make thematic sense what with Halloween.
Nintendo also announced a few other games which are on the way to Switch in the near future. So along with the Resident Evil games, Alien Isolation should make its way to the platform sometime this year. This 2014 game is a highly-rated fan favorite, so this comes as another thrilling piece of news.
Along with that title, Switch gamers also will be able to play Super Lucky’s Tale and the re-release of Panzer Dragoon. The former is slated for an autumn release while the latter will show up in winter.
