Just over a week ago, Gearbox released Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite; a free Borderlands 3 content pack featuring the first “Takedown” mission; an endgame, raid-style experience with a more restrictive respawning system and a focus on four-player teamwork. Now, the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite soundtrack, composed by Finishing Move, is available to stream on Spotify and elsewhere.
The Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite Soundtrack
Earlier today, Laced Records announced on social media that the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite soundtrack is now available. This new eight-track soundtrack, the first post-launch addition to the Borderlands 3 soundtrack since the game’s launch in September, is available to listen to here. By following that link, you can also find links to its pages on the following sites; Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, and Tidal. Of course, the soundtrack is also available to purchase and download on iTunes.
The eight new tracks are the work of composers Brian Lee White and Brian Trifon, who together comprise Finishing Move, Inc. Finishing Move also worked on the main Borderlands 3 soundtrack alongside Jesper Kyd, Michael McCann, and Raison Varner, composing roughly one quarter of its 86 tracks, including the music for the final boss fights. VGR actually had the chance to interview Finishing Move just prior to the release of Borderlands 3 about their work composing for the game; be sure to check out that interview here.
The Borderlands 3 soundtrack is likely to get another expansion in December or January, following the release of Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot; the game’s first major story DLC. That DLC soundtrack could well be larger than that of the Takedown, though it’s not currently known exactly how large. Based on the release dates of the two previous music releases, it will probably become available anywhere from a week to a month after the DLC’s launch. It’s currently unknown which of the game’s composers are working on that soundtrack.
