Tales From the Borderlands, the critically-acclaimed Borderlands title developed by Telltale Games, only recently returned to storefronts after more than a year of being unavailable. Now, the game has come to a brand-new platform as well; the Nintendo Switch.
Tales From the Borderlands Now on Nintendo Switch
Tales From the Borderlands is the only Borderlands game not to have been developed by Gearbox, and despite its starkly different approach to gameplay, it remains one of the most highly-rated games in the series. However, the game was completely unavailable to buy in any way for over a year, after the collapse of Telltale Games in late 2018 saw it removed from stores. Last month, the game finally returned, thanks to Gearbox reacquiring its license.
Tales From the Borderlands officially re-launched on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on the 17th of February. Now, the game is also making its way to the Nintendo Switch for the first time. As of today, the 24th of March, the game is now available to buy for the Switch. Like its re-release on other platforms, the game is available to purchase in a single package. Originally, the game saw release in five episodic installments, launching from November 2014 to October 2015. These episodes were available to purchase individually or as a bundle. Now, the game is only available as a single purchase, with all five episodes bundled together.

While Tales From the Borderlands never had a Switch release prior to the game disappearing from storefronts, the launch is hardly a surprise. Since the buildup to the release of Borderlands 3, Gearbox has ported every other existing Borderlands game to the Switch. At present, the only Borderlands title not available on the Nintendo Switch is Borderlands 3 itself. Of course, the sheer size of the most recent title is likely to preclude any possibility of a Switch release. However, we can’t completely rule it out just yet. Fans will have to wait and see. Of course, in the meanwhile, there’s no shortage of other Borderlands games now playable on the platform.
