The Banner Saga 2 Nintendo Switch release date has been announced to be coming very soon. Switch and Banner Saga owners can be happy to know that the anticipated sequel will be arriving sooner rather than later. Developer Stoic Games and Publisher Versus Evil have announced that the second in the saga will be released on June 7th, 2018.
The Banner Saga 2 Nintendo Switch release date comes so soon after the release of the first in the series. Stoic Games just released the original on Switch earlier this month on May 17th, 2018. The sequel comes just a few weeks later, giving Nintendo Switch owners a fair amount of time to play both games prior to the series’ conclusion with The Banner Saga 3. The final installment in the trilogy will be released on July 24th.
Considering the scale and scope of The Banner Saga 2’s story, it is great that players will have enough time to prepare for the series’ conclusion. For those that don’t know about this strategy RPG series, it is an epic tale of Vikings told in an emotional and player-driven way. Similar to Mass Effect, your choices made in the first game affect what happens in the sequel and so on.
You will really have to think long and hard as you battle it out strategically, as permanent death a la Fire Emblem does mean that losing a beloved Viking teammate in battle will expel them from the story forever. The Banner Saga 2 originally came to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in July 2016 before coming to iOS and Android mobile devices in September 2016.
The original Banner Saga is available on Nintendo Switch right now for $19.99. We suspect that The Banner Saga 2 will be sold for a similar price when it releases early next month on June 7th. For more on the entire saga, keep it locked right here.
